Volkswagen will restore its european models
Volkswagen scandal: Volkswagen will restore all the cars impacted
After several interviews with the European Commission, the giant of the German automobile agreed to repair, by fall 2017, all the cars implicated in the affair of the pollutant emissions in Europe.
Alternatively, to those discussions with Volkswagen, the European commission had already met in September several consumer groups and some environmental defence organizations, so as to verify that the firm had indemnified the owner properly.
A spokesperson from the German firm has also declared that Volkswagen would offer to the owners a “proof of conformity” demonstrating that their cars are not cheating anymore during emission tests.
South Korea also banned some AdBlue® Volkswagen models .
After an inquiry on diesel cars, South Korean authorities have suspended the sale of 80 Volkswagen models equipped with AdBlue fuel tank. The German firm should also have to pay a fee of £12m, as a compensation, to the regulation authorities. Indeed, Volkswagen, Audi and Bentley brands’ approval, has been revoked after the real measure of those models ’emissions.
Compared with the European and American markets, the South Korean market is still limited for Volkswagen. However, it represents a significant opportunity of growth.
This ban could be extended despite the fact that Volkswagen has already deliberately interrupted the sale of most of the models in the country, since July the 25TH 2016, in anticipation of the Korean government ‘s decision. The South Korean minister of environment had declared that “usually it takes three months for the certification of vehicle, but this could take much longer for Volkswagen since they will take extensive measures”.
