Diesel in the world
A quick overview of diesel vehicles worldwide sales
The global demand for diesel vehicles increased by 6.7% in 2015 despite the recent events linked to the Volkswagen scandal.
AdBlue® sales growth will be driven by an increase in the production of diesel vehicles, especially trucks and buses of medium and heavy weight. This growth is also driven by the spreading of advanced technologies, including those meant to purify exhaust to meet the standards of review that are becoming more restrictive on both the European and American markets.
Clean diesel sales are scheduled to increase
Several factors will stimulate demand for clean diesel vehicles in the world. According to a recent report, the increase of oil prices and the tightening of environmental regulations on emissions from diesel vehicles will generate increases in sales from 9.1 million in 2012 to 12.1 million annually by 2018.
Global markets analysis and forecasts provide that clean diesels will represent 12.4 percent of the global sales of light vehicles at the end of this period.
New environmental standards in Europe and in the United States have contributed to the introduction of clean diesel vehicles, which meet the requirements of the U.S. Agency for the environment and of the European Commission.
