How do you choose your AdBlue® ?
What AdBlue® for my car?
AdBlue® is a registered trademark for the aqueous solution of 32.5% urea. All product distributors must respect the composition imposed by the patent. There is therefore no difference between the AdBlue you will find on the market.
The 23 AUS is standardised according to standard ISO 2241.
The only selection criterion might be the price. Indeed, there are considerable price differences between dealers shops, service stations or even e-marketplaces.
Can I use by-products from AdBlue® for my diesel vehicle?
Few products equivalent to AdBlue® products exist on the market. Some fuel distributors are beginning to develop their own products. The only problem they are facing is convincing automakers to allow the use of these derivatives instead of true AdBlue®, and ensuring their users will get insurance coverage in the event of failure.
Some products like Diaxol from Total can replace the AdBlue® and you can use them without any risk for your vehicle.
Total presents the Diaxol as the additional technology
Diaxol has been marketed since 2016 by Total for vehicles used in cold weather or making frequent stops like city buses. This product is patented and has the advantage of protecting the SCR system against an obstruction due to cyanide crystals, which may occur under the above conditions.
