How is AdBlue® made ?
AdBlue® was designed by the German association of the automotive Industry (VDA) to improve air quality by reducing nitrogen oxides, the pollutants released by diesel engines during fuel combustion. When AdBlue® is injected into the exhaust gas, it prevents the formation of these molecules.
What type of urea for AdBlue®?
The urea used in the manufacturing of AdBlue® is specifically designed for automotive use. The right product is never dangerous, and it is used in many industrial applications such as feed for animals, skin creams and pharmaceutical products. Although the percentage of urea can vary from 31.8% to 33.2%, it is usually estimated at 32.5%.
What type of demineralised water?
The water used for the manufacturing of AdBlue® is pure water. An easy and cost-effective way to turn tap water into a lab quality product is to use a water demineraliser. A PPM modulometer allows to see the finish quality. Measuring the water purity before and after helps see how many dissolved solids have been removed.
