Diaxol, AdBlue® according to Total
Total has started to market a new fluid equivalent to AdBlue® and intended for motor vehicles in cold climate environments or for vehicles subject to frequent stopping. It is called Diaxol and is introduced as a cutting-edge technology meant to facilitate the life of all diesel fleet owners.
Following some tests carried out in collaboration with the Société des transports of the city of Mulhouse, Soleá, Diaxol has been patented.
How is Diaxol different from AdBlue®?
Seen as more effective in frequent stopping or cold climate situations, Diaxol guarantees the proper functioning of the SCR selective catalytic reduction system by avoiding the crystallization of AdBlue® in the catalyst. Indeed, AdBlue® is the liquid that enables the SCR system to reduce NOx emissions at engine output. The tests carried out by Total and Soleá research centres showed that a diesel vehicle can ride up to 1.5 million kilometres without any issues related to the use of AdBlue®.
Diaxol enables not only to purify exhaust gas, but also to protect your SCR system by avoiding its obstruction with cyanuric crystals that may form.
What types of vehicles are concerned?
Although Diaxol can be used on all diesel vehicles equipped with an SCR system, it is especially highly recommended for vehicles subject to frequent stopping. City buses, commercial cars and trucks are among those most concerned.
